Mechanic Retirement Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday so far. It's been raining and storming here the past couple of days and it rained pretty hard all last night, so now some areas around us are flooded. So I'm staying home to work on some crafty projects I need to do.
So, todays project is a retirement card for a mechanic.  I used a file called Little Mechanics from Cuddly Cute Designs for this project. I purchased this when they had a sale last week but now I can't seem to find that file on their site. They just released a super cute file that is similar to this one called Mechanic Cuties.

So, my Dad has a guy at his work that's been a mechanic there for 34 years. He is going to retire on Friday, so when I saw this file I thought it would be perfect for a retirement card for him. I dry embossed the background with a diamond plate cuttlebug folder.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
Cuddly Cute Files:  Little Mechanics
Cardstock:  Coordinations, Stampin Up & Recollections

I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday "Anything Goes Challenge"

Octopus Mother's Day Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you had a great day!! : ) It was such a beautiful spring day here. I got to spend some time outside today and watched a woodpecker for a little bit. I love to go outside, especially in the springtime when it's not so hot.
So, todays project is an ocean themed Mother's Day Card.  I used a combination of two files for this project. The first file is the You are my Squishy and the second is Princess Narwhal from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

When I was a little kid, my favorite movie was The Little Mermaid. Now it would have to be Finding Nemo or Finding Dory. I just loved all the colors that they show in the ocean. I would constantly draw pictures of the ocean and make it really colorful. Dreaming of the day that I would finally get to see the ocean in person. That dream finally came true the summer of 2015. Yay!! : )
I had so much fun creating this card!! The more I worked on it, the more excited I became and couldn't wait to see the finished result. So to create this card I combined two files You are my Squishy and Princess Narwhal. I used the Princess Narwhal file for the seaweed, starfish, shells, and I'm going to say coral. I'm not sure if that was coral or not but I made it coral for my card. Then I used the You are my Squishy file to make the Momma octopus and the little girl octopus.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:

Rainy Day Duck Card

Good Evening Deer Friends,

I hope you had a great Easter Weekend!! : ) I spent the weekend with my family. Saturday we celebrated Easter with my nieces and my sister and her in laws. Sunday, we went to Church and celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus. Then we all went to my brothers house and had Easter dinner there. Then came home and relaxed for a little bit before watching When Calls the Heart. I love that show. : ) So it's been raining off and on the past few days and I thought a rainy card would be cute.  I used the Rainy Day Duck file from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this Card.

Have you ever been somewhere and saw something that inspired you and you wanted to make it into a card or scrapbook page? Well this card was inspired by an Easter decoration I saw at Taco Bell. So I looked on Kadoodle Bug Designs website for a duck with an umbrella and found the Rainy Day Duck file. In the file, the duck is sitting in the umbrella floating on a water puddle. I just flipped the umbrella over and made the duck carry the umbrella and added some rain boots on to the duck. I wanted it to look like the duck was splashing in a puddle.

Easter Coffee Card Gift Set

Good Evening Deer Friends,

I hope you are having a great week so far!! : ) This evening, I am sharing a coffee gift card holder and a coordinating card. I wanted to make something that was coffee related but with a Spring twist. I used the Bunny Cupcake file to create this card and gift card.

So, I wanted to make something that mixed Easter and coffee together. I looked through Kadoodle Bug Designs website and found the Bunny Cupcake file and thought it would be perfect. Instead of cutting the icing in purple, I cut it in brown. Then I tucked the bottom part into the coffee cup, so it looks like the Bunny wanted some coffee and jumped in and made it splash all over. I just got some Nuvo drops in this week and I wanted to play with them, so I covered the coffee area with the copper penny drops. I think it turned out super cute with the drops on there.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:

    Paper Piecing
    KaDoodle Bug Files:  Bunny Cupcake
Cut Files: Love you Latte Cartridge for the Coffee Cup and the Coffee Bean.
Cardstock:  Coordinations Grapevine, Doodlebug Designs Coffee Break, Bella Blvd Sweet Safari & Stampin Up
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Brown & Tan
Stampin Up: Mellow Moss, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Lavender Lace, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Old Olive, Bashful Blue.
Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, foam adhesive, & red sticky tape.
Fonts: Braveheart and Comic Sans MS. Used the write feature on Cricut.
    White Gel Pen: Uniball Signo
    Micron Black ink pen: 01mm
Nuvo Drops: Copper Penny & Dandelion Yellow

I hope you enjoyed this project today and be sure to check the blog again soon.  I hope to share some more Easter projects with you this week.

    Fox Birthday Card!!

    Good Evening Everyone,

I hope you had a great Tuesday!! : ) This evening I want to share a birthday card I made for my Mom. Her birthday was Sunday, but we aren't celebrating until tomorrow so my Brother and Nieces can be there as well. I used the Girly Girl Fox and the Woodland Foxes files to create this card.

So, last week I kept struggling to figure out a birthday card to make my Mom. I've been making cards since 2011 and I always make something different. Finally, Friday night I figured out I'd make one with a Fox on it holding a cupcake. I looked through the fox files on Kadoodle Bug Designs website and I thought the one with the girl fox holding nail polish would be perfect. I just replaced the nail polish with a cupcake. I thought the Fox would look cute in the woods so, I used the Woodland Foxes file to create the tree stump and the mushrooms.

**** I want to make note of something before I start the project steps I used. For some reason my Cricut cut out pieces in different sizes. I'm not sure what happened but it did this recently on another project too. So most pieces cut out smaller than they were supposed to and a few pieces cut out at the normal size. I had cut everything out and put everything away before I saw that it wasn't the right size so I went with it. Below I'm going to give you the sizes I designed it at since I don't know the size it truly cut it at.****

To make this project I used the steps below:

    • The bases are from the Cricut Alphabet Doily # 7
    • Blue base was cut at  6.08 x 6.02
    •  Darker Purple base was cut at 5.62 x 5.57
    • Light Purple was cut at 5.63 x 5.57
    • The Purple ring was cut at 4.61 x 4.57.
    • I sliced the circle into a ring so it created a border around the fox and stump.
    • Then I got a little purple happy and sponged the background lightly with purple. And inked the blue doily circle and the ring in purple as well.
    • I inked the stump with shades of brown and embossed it in gold with a woodgrain stamp.
    • Then I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday Sentiment on the background.
    • The grass is in Design Space under Spring Seasonal.
    • The Fox is cut at 2.2 x 3.25.
    • Then I added Nuvo drops on for the nail polish and the sprinkles on the cupcakes.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:

    Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Woodland Foxes & Girly Girl Fox
Cardstock:  DCWV The Cardstock pack Brights 8 x 8  & Stampin Up
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Brown, Black, Wisteria, Fresh Green, Moss Green, Dark Peony, Rose Coral, & Rouge.
    Stampabilities Ink: Sable & Violet.
    Studio G: Blue
Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, foam adhesive, & red sticky tape.
Stamp Set: Stampin Up Woodgrain background Stamp & Sky is the Limit Birthday Sentiment.
    White Gel Pen: Uniball Signo
    Micron Black ink pen: 01mm
Embossing powders: Wow Purple Metallic & Stampin Up Gold Glory
