Solider Memorial Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend!! I'd like to thank all the Men and Women who gave it all for our Freedom!! I think the Bible says it best, Greater Love has no one than this, that he  lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) This scripture was my inspiration for this card. I tried to get my Cricut to write the scripture on the card, but it didn't work out right. And my printer isn't working either or I would have tried that too. : (  I used a combination of two files from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this card: Loving Memory Bears and Cutie Katoodles Army Penguin.

I messed up a few times when making this card, but sometimes you have to roll with it and keep going.  One of my mistakes was the sky it was too dark. I started out with blue and went to purple but it didn't look good. I then flipped the card to the opposite side and did yellows and oranges but you could still see some of the purple so, I had to put the grass up a little bit to cover it. Then I messed up on the grass and ended up having to trim the bottom piece. To cover that up, I cut a white trim border and it left a area at the bottom I could put the sentiment.

I wanted the middle cross to look like it was closer so, I popped it up and then I cut the two side crosses smaller and laid them flat so they appear further back. In the end, though the card turned out better than I expected

Bookworm Thank You Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you had a great week!! Today was my nieces last day of school.  She's sort of emotional because next year she will be going to another school district and she's only been to this school. She's got lots of friends here, so she's taking it hard. So, the other day I showed the first teacher appreciation card I made for one of my nieces teachers. Today, I'm going to show you another card for another teacher in her classroom.  Every year, I make Teacher Appreciation cards for my nieces teachers.f I used the School Day Bookworms file from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this card.

Like the previous card, I let my niece look through the Kadoodle Bug Designs School files. This time she wanted the bookworm holding the pencil. I also switched it up and made this one a round card instead of square.

Bookworm Teacher Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope today has been a great day for you!! Every year, I make Teacher Appreciation cards for my nieces teachers. One of my nieces finished preschool yesterday and the other finishes school on Friday. So, I have a few cards I've got to work on for the teachers, so stay tuned for more cards. I used the School Day Bookworms file from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this card.

So I let my niece look through the Kadoodle Bug Designs School files and she wanted the worm coming out of the apple. She thought it looked cute and so did I. Instead of doing the bow at the neck, I made the bow on top of the worm so it looked like a hair bow. I really liked the sentiment too because it looked kind of like child's writing.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  School Day Bookworms.
Walk in my Garden Cricut Cartridge: Thanks a Bunch Sentiment

Giraffe Graduation Shaker Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you are having a great week so far!! I don't know about you guys, but last week was crazy busy for me. On Wednesday, I went on a Field trip with my niece bowling and to the park all day. On Thursday, I celebrated my birthday with my family at the park. We had barbeque because I was craving it and had ice cream cake. The cake was sort of a disaster because it was melted a little bit by the time we ate it. On Friday, my nieces only had a half a day of school, so I watched them till their mom got off work. On Saturday and Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day at two locations. I was beginning to wonder if I would finish the card on time, but I finally finished it. Yay!! : ). I used two different files from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this card. I used Cutie Katoodles Bathtime Giraffe and Cutie Katoodles Graduation Owl.

My favorite parade is the Rose Bowl Parade that airs on New Years Day. I just love all the flowers and colors on the floats they always inspire me. So my inspiration for this graduation card was from the Rose Bowl Parade this year. UPS had a float with a giraffe on it wearing glasses re. When I saw that float I thought it was so cute, so I knew eventually I wanted to make a card with a giraffe wearing glasses. I decided to make a shaker card and put the giraffe on top.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Cutie Katoodles Graduation Owl and Cutie Katoodles Bathtime Giraffe

Owl Graduation Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you guys are having a great Tuesday!! The weather where I'm at today is gorgeous, it's sunny and nice outside. So, todays project is a girly graduation card. I used the Cutie Katoodles Graduation Owl from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

My Sister requested that I make a girly graduation card for someone she knows. Whenever I make a card for someone I know or if it's an order for a customer, I like to know what their favorite colors are and what they like. I think it adds an extra personalized touch.  I asked what she wanted and she said an owl because the girl loves owls and to make it bright and colorful. I embossed the background with a iridescent embossing powder and used a woodgrain stamp set. I just loved how that turned out.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Cutie Katoodles Graduation Owl
Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art Cricut Cartridge: Congrats! Sentiment
Cardstock:  Core'dinations & DCWV Pastels
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Black, brown, marigold, orange, dune, cocoa, frost white, lime pastel, moss green, warm violet, & orchid pastel

Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, & glue pop dots.
White Gel Pen: Gelly Roll
Stampin Up: Pink Chalk
Stampin Up: Iridescent Ice Embossing powder
Stampin Up: Woodgrain Stamp

Koala Scrapbook Border

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you are having a great week so far!! : ) It's been raining hard here the past few days and now all the surrounding towns are flooded. : ( Hopefully all the water goes down soon.
So, todays project is a vertical Koala Border with a Mother and a baby Koala. I used the Cutie Katoodles Koala from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

I just love Kadoodle Bug Designs Cutie Katoodle files, they are just so stinkin cute. I wanted to create something that was Mother related since Mother's Day is coming up, so I used the Koala file.  For the Koala bears, I used just the Koala file and cut the legs and arms facing one direction. I wanted it to look like the Koala was holding onto the tree. I did the same thing for the baby Koala but faced it the opposite way. The tree is from the same file as well I just increased the size. I made the sentiment in Cricut Design Space using a font called A Red Bucket.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Cutie Katoodles Koala
Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge: Flower
Font: A Red Bucket
Cardstock:  Core'dinations & DCWV Pastels
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Black
Stampin Up: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, & Pretty in Pink
Dew Drop Memento: London Fog
Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, foam adhesive, & red sticky tape.
Sentiment: Made it myself with font Listed above.
White Gel Pen: Uniball Signo
Black Micron Ink Pen
Stampin Up: Pink Chalk
Martha Stewart Punch: Vintage Doily Punch
Pink Crystals for middle of flowers

I hope you enjoyed this project today and be sure to check the blog again soon.. I'd love to hear from you.

Have a blessed week !!! : )
